As a subcontractor to Gartner Inc., performed an in-depth review of a mission critical project of a $5 billion Title Insurance company for their next generation system

·         Led the technical review process that included the review of project’s analysis, design, implementation, deployment and support

·         Conducted interviews of various levels of team members and presented results and recommendations to the COO, CFO and senior executives.

 

·         After 2 years, was consulted again to perform a follow-on in-depth strategy review with the addition of a new company acquisition and to recommend a product strategy roadmap

Cayenta Utility Management Product Division, Vancouver, BC.

·         Designed and implemented a full application security component for the Human Resources product.  The technical foundation was J2EE-based using JBOSS application server and Oracle 8i as the database engine.

 

Cayenta Platform Engineering Team

·         Directed a team of senior developers and architects to build a J2EE based application framework for re-engineering of Cayenta products.    Code-generated UI screens, controllers and complete database access methods from logical business object models.  Focused application developers on business object implementations and UI layout configuration.

·         Not only reduced application development time by 30%, but also improved product robustness and quality in addition to ensuring the UI consistency.

 

Assigned to Soliance, a deregulated subsidiary of Sempra Energy

  • Led a team of 10-15 people to build and maintain a complete CRM and CIS solution for an Energy Service Provider in Atlanta to process end-to-end utility transactions and to support for 100+ customer service and operation team users.  Selected a 3rd party billing application and business partners to provide bill printing service and remittance services for check, ACH, credit card and cash payments.    Developed B2B interfaces for integration with 7 external partners and implemented a workflow system to manage the end-to-end business processes.  
  • Delivered the first release on-time in 8 weeks.  The system was praised by the Public Utility Commission (PUC) of Georgia for its accuracy and timeliness for the delivery of bills.    The system has been in production for 3 years and its development environment was in Java using Oracle/JDBC to support interfaces such as EDI/VAN, EDI/https, XML/https, COBOL interface, database interface, and variable length record file-based interface.
  • Extended the solution with an implementation of Data Marts for customer profiling, financial information, marketing program assessments and operational goals.

 

Assigned to Healthwell, a subsidiary of Penton Media                                                                                                                                                                            

·         Staffed and directed 20-25 people to develop a B2B Catalog Exchange product for use in alternative Health industry.  The system facilitated broker exchanges and featured full catalog order-entry system.  The technology was Java/JSP and EJB back-end using Persistence for object oriented access to Oracle 8i.

Intuit Services in Chicago, the online processing division for Quicken, Quickbooks, Microsoft Money and TurboTax, was purchased by CheckFree in 1996

 

Accomplishments:

·         Architected and delivered a 7x24 online banking service for Quicken users to access their American Express transactions.  The external B2B interface was CORBA-based interface and it was integrated with the internal Tibco-based distributed computing.

·         Led a team to build an Open Financial Exchange (OFX) component adapter to attain an open standard platform for personal financial products such as Quicken, Microsoft Money and others for online banking transaction, bill-payment and bill presentment.

  • Maintained, supported and enhanced a farm of UNIX distributed systems for online access with capacity of handling 1500 concurrent users on 35 SUN servers and an additional fail-over remote site.

  • Built an Object Oriented Persistence module to allow users to define and access persistent objects, transparent to the underlying database model: RDB (Relational DB) or OODB (Object Oriented Database)
  • Created the Enterprise Distributed Object Architecture for Andersen Consulting application framework to support its WAN distributed requirement for its Trader and Load Balancing services.

Other experiences                                                                                                        

  • Built an application to aid process engineers to design Chemical Processing Plants.   Supported invocation of simulation programs for design analysis and execution of rule-based processing for valves emergency release.    C++ was used along with an Object Oriented Database (Versant).
  • Wrote the initial version of GNU C++ debugger for MCC at Austin to be tested with its new parallel processing systems.
